Waugh Invests in Student Excellence Eduction
The Waugh School District is located in the northeast area of Petaluma. There are two elementary schools within the districts boundaries: Corona Creek Elementary and Meadow Elementary. Both schools are California Distinguished Schools, both schools have national test scores above the 80th percentile, and Meadow School is a National Blue Ribbon School, one of only 32 in California at the time of the award (Corona Creek is not yet old enough to be considered for this prestigious award). Unfortunately, with the current state of affairs in state and federal funding, the District cannot guarantee future superior programs, staffing and services for the children. These programs have been a critical part of their success, so to ensure that children are getting the best education possible in our wonderful public schools, the community has joined together to form the Waugh School District Foundation. The Waugh School District Foundation is dedicated to maintaining and enriching the tradition of excellence in the Waugh School District. The Foundation is a broad-based non-profit community organization whose purpose is exclusively educational and charitable: to secure contributions from foundations, corporations, community and individuals for the benefit of students enrolled in the Waugh School District.
